The ecrm font files are included in the tetex-base package in cygwin
but not in the tetex-tiny package which is selected automatically with
lilypond.
Still, I don't see any reason why lilypond 2.4.x should search for
the default T1 encoded computer modern fonts. I tried Bertalan's
example file
