2.1.23 seems to ignore ties when producing midi (this also affects lyricsto).

It's a long time since we discussed the use of the mailing lists, but
if I recall correctly, the idea of the lilypond-development list was to
use it to discuss the development vers
The original problem turned out to be that you had a separate
line of "music" containing time signatures and bar lines that
ended up in a separate Staff context. A simple solution to that
is to explicitly include this line of "music" in an existing Staff
