glitch in installing lilypond

Hi, I'm a non-Unix-user trying to instal Lilypond under MacOS X. Got along pretty well - got fink going, found how to change the setting about trees, told it to install lilypond-unstable and it did lots of stuff. But it gave up in the end because it can't find 'ar'. checking for ar... missing_a
