Marcus,
I remember you mentioning on IRC that `make check' for gcc won't work
on the Hurd. Was that a stdio-related problem, or other?
Having *just* caught a MAXPATHLEN bug in gcc-3.1 (ada front end), I'd
like to try and implement a compile farm of some sort so we can catch
these problems in ma

Hi,
I think we have a bug that makes saved IDs to be inherited across exec where
it shouldn't be. This makes the screen program leak the utmp gid into the shells,
because it relies on setuid(real_uid) and setgid(real_gid) to get rid off
the saved gid utmp (it is not setuid root, so it is not priv

Hi,
here is the test program and the Makefile I used to reproduce this. The
test program does not have a fork() anymore (I had one, but it messed up the
output and wasn't relevant anyway, so I removed it).
Here is the output on GNU/Linux:

Hi,
is it difficult to resurrect the execdata stream stuff in exec for libio
based systems? It is required to start programs from filesystem which don't
implement io_map, which is currently for example NFS and ftpfs.
Thanks,
Marcus

Greetings,
After some initial discussions with Marcus, I would like to setup and
help administer a TWiki [1] forum for the Hurd project. I am evaluating
options on where to host a trial implementation, perhaps moving the data
to a more centrally hosted resource if the trial proves successful.

Hi!
Finally, I got my file_notice_changes() program working. Not only does
it demonstrate how to implement a simple server, it also makes it
possible to observe modifications made on any of a set of files. By
default, all kinds of modifications are recognized, but this behaviour
can be modified,
