Here is my patch to increase the error checking within libnetfs.
I've also included error.h in a couple of files that I noticed had compiler
warnings. There aren't any functions that return pointers to struct's
left in libnetfs.

Has there been any more thought on how to make the configure.in script
compatible with autoconf 2.52? There was a thread about this a year or so back
and the idea was to wait until libc will have a fix and then use that in
the Hurd, but libc the configure.in script hasn't been fixed.
