If I add the startx service, the window manager is initialized but it does not
react to any keyboard or touchpad input.
I'm using this config for xorg:

Hi Rutherther,
no, I haven't. Do I only need to add `(service startx-command-service-type)` to
my services?
Thank you!

Hello,
do we have a way to start an X window manager (EXWM in my case) without
installing
a display manager? The manual does not cover this subject and so far all
my attempts with the suggestions I collected from the mailing list [1]
[2] have failed. I tried xinit, startx or sx but nothing starts
Hi Ludo,
yes, it's only after guix system reconfigure.
Thank you!

Hi!
I'm running Guix with Sway (v1.9) and ext4. When guix system reconfigure is
performed, a filesystem check is triggered on next boot, showing the message:
"Recovering journal" and then "clean...". After this, the system boots just
fine.
I reboot/poweroff with loginctl reboot/poweroff (elogin
I think I figured out what is causing this issue.
My laptop has an empty CMOS battery and when ntpd updates the date and time
upon boot, shepherd hangs. I found out a few similar reports:

https://issues.guix.gnu.org/70848

To add more info, the issue reoccurs every time a new update is downloaded via
guix pull. Then I reconfigure and the command hangs forever at "guix system:
bootloader successfully installed on (/dev/sda)". The only way to shutdown my
laptop after this is by pressing the power button, loginctl po
Hi Guix,
sorry for reopening this but after a few guix system reconfigure, the issue I
reported here: https://issues.guix.gnu.org/72187 has come back again.
My system config:
(use-modules
(gnu) (gnu system))
(use-service-modules
dbus desktop networking sound ssh xorg)
(use-package-modules

I have to retract my last message. After a few guix pull and guix system
reconfigure I'm still getting the same behavior.

I figured out what was causing the issue and it's not a bug.
I had to disable the guix-defaults for the home-bash-configuration as explained
here https://issues.guix.gnu.org/67652 since they were already declared within
a local file.

Hello everyone!
I installed Gnome recently and I noticed that text is missing from main title
bar and tabs in Gnome Console.
This bug has been confirmed by another user in the Guix Help mailing list:
https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/help-guix/2024-07/msg00038.html
Best regards
Hello everyone,
lately, I've been experiencing a weird behavior when reconfiguring my system.
The command hangs indefinitely after displaying "guix system: bootloader
successfully installed on /(dev/sda)" and I have to hit C-c to get back to the
prompt.
I think there is nothing wrong with my co
