bash-completion installed in my user profile wont load. The "native" version of

I was trying to figure out what is needed to make bash-completion working with
my user profile and I came across what I believe is an error.
The relevant file is /etc/profile.d/zzz-guix.sh
It has two lines:
[ -L "$GUIX_PROFILE" ] || \
Shouldn't it be:
[ -L "$GUIX_PROFILE" ] &&

I am setting up shepherd for use by my user account on a foreign distro. I
setup as described in the manual in the section "(shepherd) Managing User
Services". When I try to run it using shepherd, it crashes on the line:

I have an issue where I can't get slynk to load inside stumpwm with Guix
as the package manager. I have no issue loading slynk with either nyxt
or when running a sbcl-repl even without modifying
asdf:*central-registry*. These are the packages I have in my profile:
