Follow-up Comment #1, bug #58992 (project groff): I found the skinny on this. https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/groff/2005-08/msg00030.html ...and follow-ups. The problem was already fixed and known to be fixed in the latest version of Brouwer/Lucifredi man, but the 1.6 release was "too new"!
