I'm confused - is -z separate-code the new default or not? The patch reads
like it's not the default, but the demo you posted in #16685 makes it look like
it is the default.

The usual ELF linker scripts lump a variety of "read-only data" sections into
the same program segment as the actual code ("text"), thus allowing data in
those section
