Window-Eyes 6.x have the possibility of turning braille off in the set
file which is loaded when you start cmd.exe (the command prompt). You
can then start BRLTTY, eventually with the -r (release) option. If
you, however, alt-tab to another app., braille from Window-Eyes is not
reactivated

prompt, the cursor routing keys work fine. However, in a program like

There is really a problem if you save the preferences after changing
e.g. from static to blinking cursor. After doing so, if you restart
BRLTTY and go through the menu again, BRLTTY is closed by an error
near the bottom of the menu. Also you have to redefine the blink rate.

In Jaws, you have a setting in the Default.jcf file called
'DosScreenReader'. You can set it to 0, 1, 2 or 3, which is like you
have a dos screen reader other than Jaws for speech, braille or both,
when you are in a dos box. Setting this to 3, is fine. And with the
release patch you provide

If I turn on "Show attributes" in the "Preferences menu", and after a
while turn it off again, and if I save the configuration on exit, the
attributes dots are raised on the braille display. I needed to delete
the brltty-ht.prefs file and restart BRLTTY to work around it.

know that liblouis is based upon BRLTTY, however, I feel that BRLTTY

system. In the %files section in the spec file, the python version is
hard coded into 2.4, although on my new system it's 2.6. Is there some
way to guess the installed python version instead?

a Handy Tech Braille Star 40 on bluetooth, lags a bit. If I press a key
on the display to scroll, it takes half a second before it reacts. I

bottom line of window with b2-. In the latest svn version,
it isn't. This command does simply nothing. On my Braille Star 40,

I've not found any BRLTTY package for Windows where cut and paste works
perfectly. The problem is that some characters sometimes is missing when
pasting from BRLTTY.
To reproduce, do the following:
- Install the latest BRLTTY package for cygwin.

Yes, and find out which braille.ini Window-Eyes reads, if you have
more braille.ini files on your harddisk.

What's the "right" way to start BRLTTY as early as possible in Fedora?
Previously, I put a line into the rc.sysinit file. This method isn't
available any more, because Fedora now has switched to systemd.

Normally, BRLTTY outputs sound effects in various situations. After
having the following kernel command line parameter, the effects no
longer sounds. The parameters I added: "console=tty0
console=ttyS0,38400n8". The terminal beeps as normal elsewhere. Could
this be solved?

On my machine with Win 7 64 bit, using Cygwin, and starting the Cygwin
version of BRLTTY, the sound effects works great. It uses the sound card.

This is maybe a question for Samuel. I've noticed for a long time that
BRLTTY get sluggished in Cygwin after having the session open for a
while and using braille navigation and cursor routing heavily. My
current setup is Win7 64 bit, Cygwin 1.7.15(0.260/5/3) with BRLTTY

I get an RFCOMM connect error 111: Connection refused. I have
braille-driver ht and braille-device bluetooth: in my
/etc/brltty.conf file. In the /var/lib/bluetooth//, I have a
pincodes file with the address and the pincode.
