This is really a bug of gpm, which dropped support for default mo
Thanks. I'll just put up with the noise in syslog then until I see a new GPM
release come out.

The noise goes away if you install and start gpm. Another thing that should
work is to go into brltty's preferences menu and turn off "Windo
Hi, Dave,
I started gpm, but no luck with the log messages going away. I restarted
brltty to see if that made a difference, and no dice there, either. Still
getting the log messages every five seconds or so in /var/log/messages.
The Windo follows pointer option was already switched off in my brlt

That's very odd
Hi, Dave,
GPM isn't writing anything to syslog when I start it (/etc/init.d/gpm
start... and now added to my default runlevel for automatic start-up at
boot). But I do see it in the process table, so it is, in fact, running, or
at least faking it very nicely. ;)
I'm running brltty 3.8, so I shoul

/etc/init.d/gpm status produces, as expected, "Status: started."
So, I tried the -ldebug as you mentioned.
Below is the ridiculous amount of output aht I received in syslog. Of
course, I saw no indicators of why brltty and gpm seem to be getting snarky
with each other... but hopefully, you guys w

Hi List,
I just wanted to express my gratitude to the developers of brltty and the
debian package maintainers for having it integrated into the installer of lenny
and etch propably. I was forced to reinstall and was surprised to find my
Papenmeier Brailledisplay working just flawlessly.
