much of the "pressing and holding keys to drive" thing. there are some very
nice driving wheel controllers out there, at least one of which also has an
extra gear shift add on, which can either give one standard sequential

this is a good idea, and does help to reduce the freezing, but so far, hasn't
totally solved it. the main issue with this, is that there is no speech
feedback to say what your delay is, so it is a lot of guess work.
