On December 27th, 30 field and 29 feeder observers participated in the 70th
Carleton Place CBC. The weather was mild with little snow cover and open water.

On December 27th, the 72nd Carleton Place CBC was conducted. It was a mild day
with lots of snow on the ground as 33 observers took to the field and 25
residents did the feeder watch. There were 47 species and 7233 individual
birds recorded, neither of which were record highs but jolly decent
Once again the Merlins of Carleton Place returned to their favorite perches.
Like the swallows of Capistrano these wizards of the sky dependably arrive at
this point in Spring within sight of my home on Herriott St.

On Dec. 27th the 73rd Carleton Place CBC was held. There were 33 field and 21
feeder observers out in the fog and rain with virtually no snow anywhere.
The most significant observation was the nearly complete lack of some winter
species such as Grosbeaks, Waxwings(no Gauloise

On Dec 27th, 33 field observers took to the wilds of Carleton Place and
surroundings to espy as many birds as possible, all in support of the Audubon
CBC. The field observers were supported by 22 feeder observers tucked warmly
in their abodes. The day was mostly cloudy w
