At 6:44 Am the Snowy Egret came out of dense tall grasses, took a flight around
the basin and has landed at the back of the wwtland and is currently skulking
in its preferred marshy grasses.

during my stay this morning , the bird did not perform any of its regular

A group of us are watching the Snowy Egret on the smallest rocky tern island
viewed left of the lookout. The summering adult plumage Dunlin is nearby.
Summering Dunlin are scarce in the HSA.

I just watched an adult and a dark juvenile Parasitic Jaeger harass and chase
gulls for 6 or 7 minutes. They are both still on tbe lake. Conditions for
pelagics are ideal.

It's here along east shore of cell 3. A SCOPE IS ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY to view
the goldeneye unless they come into a better spot closer to red bridge.
The spit is at lake end of leslie street in Toronto. Follow main path 2.5 km
to red bridge and look west in pond.

I am watching 2 Pomeraine Jaegers terrorize gulls in front of Lakeland Centre.
One is so relentless it may be a Parasitic actually. Good conditions exist for
pelagics today. Very cold.
Lakeland is on Van Wagners Beach Blvd just south of Beach Blvd and runs
parallel to QEW Niagara.
Still actively feeding and being viewed by many, east of Halls Road along bike
path. Great looks but moves around a lot!

Following the post by Josh Vandermeulen, I came to Fruitland Road at the lake
to look for both Eiders that were reported. I found the female west of the
lookout, close to shore with a few Merganser. The young Male took some work but
I did find him straight out amongst all the Long-tailed.
There are currently NO swallows at Bronte Harbour or Bronte Bluffs Park to the
west.

Andrew Keaveney and Alex Stone have relocated the female Smew previously
reported to be in the Long Salut area. It is several miles WEST of where it was
previously located. Currently being viewed from Ault Island looking north to
Upper Canada Village. This is between Morrisburg and Ingles
The bird is present currently and was pointed out to us kindly by some local
birders. It is against the south end of the house under a grey pipegetting heat
at the sw end of of Dalkeith which is where it's favourite apple tree is. I do
not see how the bird will survive another cold night.
Whike scanning a load of Geese on the Grand River in Dunnville, I discovered
Red-throated Loon and Common Loon below the dam in the heart of the city. The
Common is directly below the falls, the Red Throated is across the river from
me hanging with Canadas along the reedy shore.
I thin
Lisa Teskey and I can hear a fish crow now near the intersection of Bowen and
Petit Road.Our 2.5 month old, Leo, picked it out. It is calling now from in the
north east woodlot sort of kitty corner to The Fudge Pot food trailer.The crows
are streaming back into this wood lot from the sout

While scanning the lake for Little Gulls, I came upon a probable common teal
on Lake Ontario. At the end of Grey's Road in Stoney Creek. I called Rich
Poort because he lives nearby and he just arrived and agrees with the ID .
It's at a distance and we are trying to get photos .
We are viewing
Rich and I moved and got great looks at this bird to safely say this is a
common teal. Unfortunately it flew east and into the lake and is now a spec at
60 x.
To have a chance maybe check sayers park or green road now or st first light

The bird is around today. Rich Poort and I independently heard the distinctive
song at a distance.We were then invited briefly onto private property where the
bird had been seen and with a group of white throated sparrows. The bird sang
at very close range to us two more times. It is in a dense
David Pryor heard the rail first and got some happy birders on the rail calling
. The first call is at 6:53 PM. It's about 40 yards in the marsh on to west
side... North west of the bridge over sedge wren marsh on Wylie road.
Sedge wren marsh is in the Carden Alvar and is on Wylie road in kirk
The stilt is at the dead end of mersea road 1 with 2 avocets. 2 willet just
flew over coming from Hillman Marsh.

Two adults continue in cootes paradise. The birds just flew east a short
distance at 540 Am from Dundas Marsh and are now floating in eastern part of
Cootes . They are just west of a small island but should be visible from

This always confused me as he kept and had an impressive winter list! This post
is in the spirit of the winter list!
There has recently been a Lesser Yellowlegs at the Red Hill Stormwater Pond in
Hamilton.
The 2 juv. Sabine's Gulls were giving excellent looks and photographic
opportunities below the horseshoe falls this afternoon.
Park at dufferin island lot about 1 km South of the falls along the Niagara
parkway. It's on the west side. Then mosey on down to the falls and view into
the gorge.

The Eared Grebe that was found a few days ago by the Vandermeulen party is
still present.

Take the Qew niagara and exit Eastport drive. First set of lights go right at
the cciw and park. Look north into the small bay. It's currently close to shore
souyh east of the first island.
It's here with a Killdeer. Yellowlegs have cleared out.
Qew niagara from Toronto. Red hill parkway exit after skyway bridge. When exit
ramp passes marsh on right and turns right uphill put 4 ways on and go to
shoulder. Pull in on gravel road at own risk.

Found last night by Chris cheatle and refound and quickly photoed this morning
by joanne redwood, we watched it for about a minute before it flew across the
water.

Rich Poort and I viewed the bird in the north east cell. Photos have been
secured during this top secret mission.
Be advised there are hundreds of ducks at this location and the dabblers fly in
The Ibis found by David Pryor has just flown extremely high and west as seen by
a large group of us.

Bird is present near south edge of Tollgate Pond but on east side of QEW.
Also a heavily marked and dark red tailed hawk well within the range for
northern abieticola ssp. Remains at Windermere Basin

Birders,
Rare at Hamilton, a Louisiana Waterthrush has been photographed by Chris
Cheatle at Edgelake Park in Stoney Creek.
It's a small park surrounding a wet muddy area so the bird should still be
around until nightfall.
Ticks are abundant but make for a fun where's Waldo experiment afte

Lisa Teskey has refound the bird north of its original location on the north
heading delaurier Trail.
It's behind a big log now and not visible but it's here with a hooded and
golden winged too.
