On Friday around 2 PM, there were two groups of cranes - one clearly seen with
my binoculars in a formation of 5.
They were not close enough to see crane species - whooping and sandhill sound
similar and I could not identify them - too far away.
One or two were calling with the distinctive cran

highway 88 and the other just north of Holland Marsh. I travel this way every
morning and this is the first time I have seen them - perched high in a tree -
a foretelling of early Spring?
Take highway 88 West of highway

Hi All,
This evening, I saw a juvenile Green Heron in a tree overlooking the stream on
the Thornton Cookstown Trans Canada Trail. The heron listened, fascinated for a
while while I talked and whistled bird like sounds.
Take highway 89 west of the 400 to highway 27, head south on 27 to 15th line
I know this is not Ontario but it is a wonderful significant sighting in Quebec
on the St Lawrence River.
Today at 6 pm we saw over 1,000 Snow Geese in a field on Ile d’Orleans just
outside Quebec City. They took flight to the Northeast at dusk in one large and
several small groups.
Happy bid
The bird doesn’t like it and the home owners don’t like it. I would like to
think that you could see that it is time to respect their privacy.
Respectfully,
Diana
