I got a little further but still no cigar.
now I get
perlglob.c(6) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'stdio.h':
No such file or directory
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'cl' : return code '0x2'
Stop.
I have C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~3.NET\VC7\include in my path

I ran vcvars23.bat
PATH has c:\perl\pe
