if you are paranoic then try using the OpenSSH suite, by setting a sftp
server, or via scp, chrotting ssh., if not then vsftpd, pureftpd, can
resolv this question.

Looking at a live FC5 system, it has an SFTP server available. You have
to enable it by removing the comment tags in /etc/service.
