What I'm doing is having two or more beancount files for this kind of
situations.
For example, you could have a tax.bean and a personal.bean and write in
each the different accounts, definitions, etc.
I know is not the best because you must maintain 2 files, 2 writes, etc...

like to vote (I know that is not a voting decision but anyway) for Github
first and Gitlab second.

is really good but for starting…
I would recommend you Visual Code https://code.visualstudio.com/. Is free
and really good.
Once installed you must look for an extension that helps you with the
beancount files.
