In two days, i have downloaded the ISO of centos 5 and today written 2 cds
of it. now I see its a live cd but I don't get any install option like
Ubuntu.
Is it not possible to install centos from live cd? :(
if yes, then how?

oh my Badluck. what a bad thing? I was so impressed by CentOS that I made
two copies of it. All my works gone to fail. I wont use it
anymore...

Last time when I used CentOS (I guess 4.1 or something), it was very
good and sta

But I did not like Ubuntu as I liked the CentOS on first sight. Moreover, I
used CentOS in Virtual Live CD with only 256 MB ram. Its was performing much
better than Ubuntu with 1024MB ram.

I ran into similar kinda problem a year ago as some suddren power surge
corrupted my hdd. Your drive probably has bad sectors, to solve this:
1. boot from live cd (ubuntu/kubuntu or something else)
2. in terminal
sudo e2fsck -ccvyfk /dev/hda3
This marks the bad sectors and tries to recover them.

Finally we switch suse (10 -10.2) and Ubuntu for Desktop environment.
Both Centos are bad Desktop environment coz
1. Dependency Hell. ( Biggest threat for Linux for Human Being)
2. Dependency Hell. ( Biggest threat even for professionals).
