I am really happy to hear that you test, which means that you never
would have fallen into the Ubuntu traps (1. the -Bsymbolic ... 2. the
new C++ bugs, which we have now programmed around by "fooling" the
compiler.).

While Debian stable still has the old 5.2.x release, it's quite easy to
run a current version of Bacula using backports¹. Currently it's on
7.4.3 but I'll put 7.4.4 there sooni
