I don't use VMWare, but what I do for Centos 5 Xen is keep a minimal
Centos 5 VM template in a file on the host server's file system. In this

I recognize that I could use knoppix (or other) to do the recovery as you
mentioned...I was just hoping to be able to make the cd for that system easily
without mucking around too much.
