Hi John, hi Randall,
When I said "And it is not possible that more than 1 job writes to the same
tape.", it was about that tapes still are serial access, not about
interleaving.
And about the "Prefer Mounted Volumes = no" option, it is important to have
it configured if you want bacula to use vol

Hi,
Looks like I can use both drives when I add
Changer Device = /dev/changer-sg2
to the bacuala-sd.conf file
and additionally I had to add to the Storage directive
Device = Qualstar
# Definition of LTO tape storage device
Storage {
Name = "Qualstar"
#Do not use "localhost" here

Hi John,
Does that apply to file storage as well, or only tape?

Only if you have lost the catalog and need to use bscan to regenerate
it. Also if you spool you can reduce the interleaving. At work where I
run dozens of jobs nightly to a 2 drive
Thank you John. Didn´t know that. But I read that it is a little difficult
to restore files in this situation.
Best regards,

This is possible to have job writing at the same time to the same
volume loaded in the same bacula storage device. In this case bacula
will interleave the data.

Hi Randall,
Have you tried the "Prefer Mounted Volumes = no" option? If you want bacula
to write to volumes that are in the same pool, you should configure this
option. This way bacula will detect that your first drive is in use and it
will mount and you a tape on the second one. It is recommended

Hi,
I am trying to configure a dual drive tape library. My challenge is that
bacula seems to only use one drive. What determines in bacula when it is
optimal to use two drives? I am using bacula Version: 5.2.13.
Additionally I have set "Maximum Concurrent Jobs = 4" in all the relevant
places,
