Hi,
I recently changed my media library from LTO2 to LTO3 (got a Quantum
Superloader3). But when looking at BAT, it seems that it thinks that the
max size of the tapes is about 219GB. Most of the times, the tapes are
filled between 210 to 260GB.
How can I solve this?
Thanks,

Hi,
The storage daemon crashed last night and restarting it seemed to put
things back to normal (I'm still looking into the cause of the crash).
The first backup job that ran after the crash marked the tape in Error:

Hi all,
Thanks to John for his answer.
I have tried with Recycle Current Volume but I think there is a problem:

Hi,
I have installed bacula and i'm trying to backup on DLTv4 medium. I have 10

backup on the same medium each day if I forgot to change medium...
I have defined the following pool:

If you are using the Label Format attribute to assign volume, bacula
normally appends the media ID. However, if you use variable expansion to
generate the name, it doesn't - and I don't see a way to use variable
expansion to add it again. I don't see it among the documented
variables; is there

Hi list.
I'm running bacula 2.2.7 for 2 days and I've a MSL2024 HP library with
one LTO3 drive.
My problem is that bacula reports that tape are full very early (with
only 100-200 GB) and it needs another tape to continye my backups.

Running full backups on a weekend,
I'm using a "Daily" pool for incremental backups on weekdays, and a
"Weekly" pool for full backups on weekends. The "Weekly" pool has
"Volume Use Duration = 8h" because the full backup goes into off-site
storage.
Now if Bacula hits the end of a "Weekly" tape, the weekend's remaining
jobs will blo
The answer is update the firmware.
Many thanks to Bob Hetzel, who perservered with me.

Thanks for your reply Mike,
I spent some time trying various options such as changing the bus speed

The bios is set to disabled, however this is not used anyway. Bios is
only used if a bootable device is detected.
I then reset each channel to its defaults, th
Hi John,
The card you use has its own BIOS boot functions, you should check which
options are relevant, and either cancel them, or cancel "external storage"
or something of the sorts in your motherboard.

Hi,
I've acquired a delightful old storagetek L80 with 2 DLT-8000's in it.
It's using HVD-SCSI and I'm using an adaptec 3944AUWD card in my ML150
G3 server.
Its all very well, the card detects the drive and the media changer.
Unfortunately, when the media changer is plugged in, the server won't

Hi all,
After quite a bit of churning on my issue about Storage directives and

Hi,
My version of bacula is 2.0.3
My stockage is several directories on a fixed filesystem.
Each Job has a specific "stockage resource" with a specific "device directive"
which corresponds to a specific "device resource" in bacula-sd.conf
All the "stockage resources" (bacula-dir.conf) and all

If you don't want them getting crossed, you need to set two different
media types for the two drives. Media type is an arbitrary name and is
only used for selection purposes -- it does not have to be an actual
media type (DDS4, etc.)

I have 2 DLT drives (a and b) set up to accept jobs dedicated to each drive.
Certain types of jobs go to a and certain types go to b and this seems to work

drive. Both are valid for writing and are in the same

I know these ways, but they aren't easy:
- "list media", cut&paste, manualy sort in my editor,
the five oldest tapes are those that
