Ok, got them installed and lin_tape completely removed. The drive is /dev/st0
and the changer is /dev/sch0. I have a feeling I am close, but missing
something as it seems to not see the slots in my autoloader:

You should use at least Centos 7, Centos 6 went out of "Full Update"
support in May 2017, and is going out of "Maintenance Support" totally
in November 2020...
Centos 7 goes out of support

Several customers in Brazil use this model.
Don't use the IBM drivers. Native Debian/CentOS drivers
