Using btape, I manually looked at all of the tape labels, but I can't
seem to load them into the catalog.
Here I've manually loaded the tape from slot #1, went into btape and
read out the label. Then I tried to bscan it into the catalog. No go.

First of all, you said that you have LTO-6 tapes. So, I recomend you
specify it in your Device name definition, that will avoid some confusion
in the future:
