I appear to have resolved my problems.
This may not be the best solution, but it does seem to work.
Solution:
On VM Host, "server1" (CentOS 4.4):
- add to "/etc/rc.d/rc.local":
- "modprobe sg" so sg0 is found at boot; resolves problems with sg driver
