I've been running Community Bacula for many years on Ubuntu via the
bundled Universe repository. That's currently at 9.6.7 and not likely to
increase in the Ubuntu bundle.
How do I upgrade this to 13? Which repository, what upgrade tools?

You have to run the script "update_bacula_tables" and then Bacula will

Hi,
My bacula version is 2.4.4 (bacula-director, bacula-sd and all
bacula-fd of the clients)
I read about upgrading bacula versions in [1].
So, I have two questions:
1. If I just upgrade bacula-director and bacula-sd, lets say, to version 5.03,
the bacula-fd in the version 2.4.4 is compatible?
Thanks to all for your responses. I found the database table upgrade
scripts in the source tree under updatedb. There I found the
update_mysql_tables_10_to_11 which then allowed me to run the
update_mysql_tables under the install directory. All of the daemons
are up and running. My client m

Hi,
I need to upgrade the bacula that I am running here on a fedora-linux
server.
Currently we run version 2.0.2 and I am attempting to move to 5.0.1
Questions:
1) Do I need to change the database? ( mysql 5.0.27 ) ( i.e. are the
tables and indexes the same? )
2) May I just replace the binaries
No, the version is Bacula's internal version number for the database.
