This worked! I now have the completed backup. Bacula rocks! Thank you.

I changed it to 1 hour and it now seems to be working. This in an archive which
takes several days and 12 tapes (its CCTV), this morning I only had 4 emails
each spaced 1 hour apart. I won't know for sure for a day or 2 but it looks
much better now, thanks.

HI kern, I want to try this and tell you how I got on. Please can you spell out
exactly where I change the poll interval?

Well, it is definitely not a deliberate change. We do not knowingly
create problems for users.

It is probably because the default polling interval has been changed
from 30 mins to 5 mins. Set the polling interval very long and perhaps
the problem will go away. If it does, I would be interested to know,
because then it should be relatively easy to fix.

I've reported this here many times - thank you, it's not just me then!
It sounds like this is a recent deliberate change to bacula which all my
servers picked up on during the last automatic update. Being so used to the
previous correct exponential backoff, I assumed something I'd done had broke

Hello,
The most valid list for this kind of requests is a bacula-devel mailing
list not a users one.
As a Bacula is a community project I propose you to prepare a patch which
changes this behavior.
best regards

Hello all,
is there a way to change this back to a saner scheme (exponential back-off,
maybe)? When I am out of the office (or asleep) flooding my mailbox every five
minutes won't help Bacula in getting its desired tape any sooner ...
