What I eventually did was to DELETE all tapes, and adding them back
to the database, in order (previosly they where not in number order -
for some reason).
I didn't think about
I've been using Tape_5 for a couple of days now, and it got
filled so the director requests Tape_3.
Why it didn't request Tape_2 (which SHOULD have been the next
in line I don't know - maybe because it was Full and the recycle
time wasn't reached).
Now I've pruned + purged Tape_2 and set it as 'R

Usually, my backups go to tape but I only have one tape, and the machine
is 'resonable remote' and no one is 'babysitting' the site.
So, when the tape fills, I usually can't/don't get the opportunity to
change tape in a couple of d

This is weird... I've been fiddling with running multiple jobs
simultaneous (which seems to work). But this morning (first time
ALL run/start at the same time), I have a couple of jobs that ISN'T
started!

That wasn't nice :) It can be, and probaby is in most cases but
I'd still would want a way to permanently disable a client... How
about a third option 'permanent'?

Is there any way of disabling a client temporarily by modifying the
database directly (i.e. via SQL command and NOT touch any f

Try 'debuild -uc -us -sa' and it will stop and tell you what dependencies
you're missing.
Debuild is in the 'devscripts' package...

Do you use software compression as well? I accidently did this a
couple of months ago and the speed was horrendus! I got 4x as fast
backup (and less tape use!) when

Just found a minor bug in v1.36.3 (don't know if it's
fixed in any newer version, but I thought I send a mail

For the last two weeks, I've been trying to interface the Bacula
SQL database with SNMP.
The script is now in such a state that it's actually RELEASABLE
and USABLE but not quite done regarding the Cacti integration -
still need to finish the SNMP Query XML file.
I can't seem to set the recycle time correctly. It's now 86400 seconds (one
day),
but it STILL tries to _append_ to the tape...
This tape is exactly one week 'old', so I don't understand (the
'LastWritten' date is from the write/append below - don't know
what it said before that)...

I'm having a strange problem that I can't seem to fix...
I'm using bacula v1.36.1 and can't seem to get the retention
to work correctly. I get two mails every day about 'failures'...
Anyone got an idea? Known bug?
