Hey, all. We're seeing one of our Bacula machines acting up in a very strange manner. The below error occurs when a one of our machines tries to back itself up. It's a Red Hat Enterprise Linux machine. Initially, it was running Bacula 1.36.1. I upgraded to 1.38.3 in the hopes that this was a b

Quoting Martin Simmons <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: I think the setting of "strict mode" in the MySQL config is a possible reason for this error. It sure is - good catch. =) Is it possible to run Bacula with this restriction in place? -Brian -- I live in the United States of America, where we are

[Bacula-users] MySQL catalog with lower_case_table_names=1

We have a client that requires lower_case_table_names=1 in their mysqld configuration. When I try to run a job, I get the following output: *run A job name must be specified. The defined Job resources are: 1: clientdb1 2: BackupCatalog 3: Monitoring 4: RestoreFiles Select Job

[Bacula-users] Daylight savings time and bacula

2005-10-31 Thread Brian Keifer
This weekend brought us another daylight savings change. It seems that all of our director/storage servers that had a job running at the time that the clocks changed are now unable to use any of their available volumes. I've had to stop and restart Bacula in order to get them to resume backups -

I actually ran into the same issue just yesterday. Try putting an explicit drive letter in front of the WorkingDirectory and Pid Directory locations in the bacula-fd.conf file. That fixed it for us. -Brian Quoting Shawn Wilson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: Has anyone been able to get the bacula-fd se

[Bacula-users] Compiling 1.36.3 on FreeBSD 2.x and 3.x

2005-09-13 Thread Brian Keifer
Greetings! I've been tasked with backing up two older FreeBSD machines - one's running 2.2.8 and the other is 3.4. I'm having some troubles getting Bacula 1.36.3 to compile on these two machines and was hoping someone here may be able to shed some light on the problem. My configure line is: ./c

[Bacula-users] Multiple catalogs for one pool?

Hi, all. First of all, a little background... I'm in the process of setting up a large new disk- and tape-based backup server using Bacula 1.36.3. We expect the server to handle the backups of between 20 and 30 other servers. Initial counts show that we'll be grabbing about 110GB (totalling jus

Quoting Kern Sibbald <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: With 10,000,000 files right off the bat, I'm a bit concerned about catalog size. We've got about 100GB of space to work with for catalog storage, but I'm mostly concerned with the File table growing extremely large. By my calculations, a single full bac
