Wow, sounds just what I need, thanks.
But, I'm a newbie. Could you post the full script please, if its not too long
for here.
If not, how to apply the patch. Im not lazy, I did rename the orig and try
[root@tiger bacula]# patch --dry-run < update.patch
checking file update_mysql_tables.orig
patc
[root@tiger bacula]# ./update_mysql_tables
This script will update a Bacula MySQL database
from any from version 12-15 or 1014-1021 to version 1022
which is needed to convert from any Bacula Enterprise
version 4.0.x or later to version 12.4.x
or Bacula Community versions 5.0.x, 5.2.x, 7.4.x,
This was resolved on all servers after a recent linux kernel update.

We had a disk error with the disk which holds the bacula catalogs, and many of
the older catalog files themselves are gone. Newer ones are OK, but now when we
list the pool for that Catalog many of these entries under VolStatus are

Hi, hope this is easy. I was holding back until a regular bacula update came
into my Fedora 29 system with a DNF update, and it did yesterday. I'm now on
9.0.8. However, it still thinks I'm using Postgeres, when in fact that's not
even installed on the server, it's just mariadb which worked perf

Just wait until they reach testing and do a:

Or just pick up stuff from here:

Dammit - of course the title to all this should have read "Upgraded to Fedora

Hi Jeremy,
Since this sounds exactly like the root of the problem any chance of you
spelling out to this humble newbie how I'd check and fix that please?
Cheers!

Hi Allesandro
Well ain't that something? I'd have put money on it being something we did. In
fact I can add to this - we have another server, which was running the same
bacula on F15, which we upgraded using the "preupgrade" method, i.e. entirely
via the web and wizards. This went perfectly. It
Hi - the upgrade wasn't without trouble - we had to preserve the bacula config,
do a clean installation and restore the config/cats etc. So its almost
definitely not a "bacula doesn't work with Fed15 problem" ;-)
What happens is if I restart the services I can see them running fine and the

After years of compiling and installing bacula manually I recently installed it
via yum on Fed12, following this:
http://wiki.bacula.org/doku.php?id=howto_install_and_configure_bacula_on_fedora_9_using_yum.
Its worked, but I noticed the /etc/bacula directory only has the 4 *.conf
files whereas
I've just upgraded to FC12 and m facing exactly this issue. and would be happy
to install from RPM's if someone could point to a guide please. I have been
building bacula from source for years now as thats how I first did it, and
guess its time now to break the habit. I'm not even sure what the

I have 16 tapes in a pool, and each tape takes 2/3 weeks to fill. What I really
want is Bacula just to rotate through these in sequence and ask for tape 1 when

Hi, well its happened, I did ask about this on this list a while back and
thought it was sorted. I only have 10 tapes in my pool. I set up a daily
incremental, and identified the pool to have 10 in. It worked fine and each
time a change was needed I labelled them on the fly, like 002, 003 etc. I
got this, I delete the job!
