Hi Shon,
The question is that bacula needs more than just the "retention period" to
recycle volumes when you´re using disk volumes and automatic labeling. If
you don´t have a limit of volumes in your pool or something else that tells
bacula to not label any more volumes, just use an older one that
Hi Mingus,
When using disk volumes with automatic volume labeling, you have to tell
bacula when to stop labeling new volumes... You can do it limiting the
number of volumes in the pool. Also, you can try Recycle Oldest Volume =

Hi Andreas,
Don´t know if this is the best way to do, but it is working fine for me. We

monthly pools). I had to define the only drive twice in the director
configurations for storage, one for media type LTO-3 and the othe

Hi,
It seems to me that you are not using a client at your director host to
backup your catalog:
- your "Job=BackupCatalog2" is using "Client: "bacula2-fd" 5.0.0 (26Jan10)"
and this is not the director host, because you said that had a "my os
centos 6.3 and bacula 5.2.13" host and bacula2-fd is a
Hi!
I´d like to contribute with the "Cleaning Prefix = "CLN" pool directive.
This way bacula knows who is your cleaning tape, when using "label
barcodes":
"Any barcode that begins with the same characters as specified on the
"CleaningPrefix=xxx" command, will be treated as a cleaning tape, and wi
Hello!
About your update slots command bellow it works as expected. Since you
don´t have the volumes in catalog, as you said.
You should label them:
1) with mtx or mtx-changer script load each tape into drive and do:
1.a) mt -f /dev/nst0 rewind
1.b) mt -f /dev/nst0 weof
2) after unloading the t

And If Jonathan has a lot of separated filesystems mounted under /mnt, for
example, he could use onefs=no and put "File = /mnt" in his fileset

Yes, I would prefer to have a long list of "/usr". "/etc", "/var", etc.
And have "onefs = yes". This way avoids a lot of trouble, including
"infinite loop recursing filesystems", like states in manual...
If you have onefs set to no, you have to be very carefull about excluding
directories to avoid
Have you tried configuring onefs = no?
"If you wish to backup multiple filesystems, you can explicitly list each
filesystem you want saved. Otherwise, if you set the onefs option to *no*,
Bacula will backup all mounted file systems (i.e. traverse mount points)
that are found within the *FileSet*."
Hi,
If you don´t want to change things in catalog (it worked for me once, no
problem), another solution could be, just for this restore job, change your
bacula-sd.conf to make ULTRIUM960_drive2 to point to ULTRIUM960_drive1
archive device (the Archive Device directive). In the case that

Hi Jonathan,
You have to put a "JobDefs = " directive in each Job
definition. For example, for your above job definition:
Job {
Name = "D0LPHB040 System Backups"
JobDefs="DefaultJob"
Type = Backup
Level = Full
Client = d0lphb040
FileSet = "Legacy Platform wData Backups"
Schedule =
Hello,
I´m trying to run a console command from an admin job and this is crashing
my director. A simple Console = "list jobs", inside a RunScript directive,
crashes the director (bacula-dir dead but subsys locked) and it generates a

Hi Marcin,
I think both cases are possible, it depends what you want to do (

Hi Iban,
I´m afraid you have wrong configuration on your bacula-dir.conf about
storages...
I think you should have only one definition for storage, your autochanger
named TSM3500. That way bacula will find correctly your storage device, the
TSM3500, and the mtx-changer script and other configurati
