Indeed, I can't find anything that does use .bvfs_get_bootstrap.
AFAICS, the query can only be executed by the restore command if you
explicitly specify it with a '?' prefix in the file or directory keywords.

thank you for this information, I definitely have to try this before
rolling it out in a larger scale. So far everything worked as expected
