Hi Allesandro
Well ain't that something? I'd have put money on it being something we did. In
fact I can add to this - we have another server, which was running the same
bacula on F15, which we upgraded using the "preupgrade" method, i.e. entirely
via the web and wizards. This went perfectly. It

We currently backup our department network running Legato networker with
backup to a raided disk array (advanced file device in their jargon)
followed by cloning to a Qualstar/SAIT2 tape library.
Our backup needs are increasing and we don't want to buy licenses for
more file device space or mor

I was using /dev/nst0 but I'm trying the /dev/st0 just for testing, because
I've notice that even with any of them, Bacula controls if it will rewind or
not. At least, this was I could to notice.

Hi everyone:
I want to manage the users list of Bweb for those who made his backups only,
but I don't know where is the file that I have to modify.
The users are added in the file .htaccess, which is in /var/www/html/bweb. I
don't have problems with this users, but every user that login in bweb

I'm running Verify Tests with the VolumeToCatalog list and nothing is making

Hello All,
I m looking for examples about phyton startup scripts... My issue is,
that i will change the priority of jobs to the starting time.
the script should look for an fullbackup-job and if this job exists and
run... all other jobs should get an higher priority. If this job not

Hi!
in our case, so we don't have the risk of overwriting any file when
restoring.
Anyway, we don't make backups of desktop computers. The fd clients
are our own servers.
Bye!

Having the fd on the target was the key - thank you.
Can I ask why others use a dedicated restore point, then use SCP? Why not just
have bacula-fd running wherever you need to restore?

Hi,
We generally use a dedicated FD for restoration only. Then we copy
the files using SCP to the corresponding client.
Bye!

Can you tell me why/when this behaviour would occur?
Using separate pools for each day: Would this (IMHO interesting) concept
prevent using a Monday tape on e.g. Tues
One last thing...we'll say that the server that contains the backup is
somewhere else also, so the dead client, bacula, file storage, and intended
destination for restore files are all on different machines but same network

Can you give me a little more detail? I'm fairly new to Linux and Bacula. Right
now Bacula and the storage device are on the same network as where I want to
put it, so for example we'll say the hostname/domainname is "bacula" (where the
director and bconsole are), the client that I'm restoring (

The default is to restore to /tmp/bacula-restores on the client...but the
client is down, and I just need the files on a different disk. How do I restore
the files to a different server? Can I just do like this:
Where = linux-server-host-name(or IP address)/restores
?

Hi there,
my name is Carsten and I am quite of new to Bacula.
Currently I have the following configuration:
- Bacula 5.0.3 installed on Ubuntu 11.04.
- LTO-3 tape drive connected to this machine.
- Six machines running Windows Server 2003 / 2008 to be backupped nightly
(mon-fri).
- Spooling is a
