Hi all,
I have a backup job that's using data spooling. The job successful despooled
all the data to tape but the bacula-director crashed before the attributes
could get put into the database. Is this information lost? Is there anyway to
get the attributes into the catalog without rerunning

Hi John,
I don't use Nagios, I use Zabbix, but getting alerts for mount requests is
fairly simple.
I receive alerts for the following type of Bacula messages:
09-Apr 04:35 Test-sd JobId 6900: Job Example.2009-04-08_22.15.26 waiting.
Cannot find any appendable volumes.
02-Mar 08:43 Test-sd JobId
I invariably get errors of the following kind when I try to append to a
previously written tape following a reboot:-
31-May 23:48 bacula-dir JobId 234: Start Backup JobId 234,
Job=BackupHomeDir.2010-05-31_23.48.54_04
31-May 23:48 bacula-dir JobId 234: Using Device "SLR7"

Why would you want to do that? Frankly, I'm having trouble imagining a
scenario in which you'd need to do this that cannot be handled better
by fixing the Pool settings.

Is there some way I can force it to move onto the next tape mid-backup?

My guess is it will ignore
About three months ago I began using Bacula (5.0.0 on FreeBSD 8-STABLE),
initially backing up to disk, but with a view to backing up to tape in the near
future. To keep things simple, I initially used Sqlite for the catalogue.
About a week ago, I decided to move to using PostgreSQL for the cat
If I have multiple backups running to the same virtual disk based tape and then
set that tape status to full will it simply move on to the next tape without
damaging the backups in progress or existing data?

Hi,
I have a installed a bacula system 5.0.2 on a SLES 11 OS. Backupjobs are
working fine, but in the bat console I have some problems.
1. There is no stats about my backupjobs. may it's called jobplot
(http://wiki.bacula.org/doku.php?id=bat)
2. at the menupoint media I can see my volumes. bu
I am also after around 100 DLT barcode labels (http://www.aclabels.co.uk). I
was going to go to a local company but after downloading that file I have no
need. Didnt realise how easy they are to make.
Thanks for the link Ralf

What CPU's do you have in your 2950? I'm backing up to two LTO-2 in my
PowerEdge 2900 server (dual Xeon 5160 CPU's) and it seems to be pretty
maxed out with two tape drives. On my R710 I only get 70MB/sec despool
rates to LTO-4 drives.
If you can't get higher results when using a SAN I'd thin

Avery make specific barcode label sheets (US Letter only) with polymer
substrate rather than paper for DLT and L

Do any of the nagios plugins support alerting if bacula is waiting for media?

Or raid 0. No need for redundancy on an array that is essentially a
cache. I use a 4 drive raid 0 for my bacula spool.

Hi everyone,
Our setup consists of a Dell 2950 server (PERC6i) w/ FreeBSD7 and two HP
Ultrium LTO4 drives installed in a twin Quantum autochanger enclosure.
Our bacula version is 5.0.0 (which is the current FreeBSD port version).
Here is our problem:
When running a single job, our setup is ab
Hi guys,
we have a 127 slot / 3 drive library, which is working great . Drives 0 and
1 are set for automatic use.
We have 2 jobs, offsite and local, and a separate pool for each job, with
tapes being picked up from Scratch. This works fine too.
Both jobs are configured to use the autochanger stor
