Hi Joseph,
I had a similar Problem a couple of hours ago. See:

What solved it for me was to use a shorter password, not kidding. I
used "abc" to test and

Thanks for the reply!!
I found the problem.. I'd checked to see iptables status on the client
node, and found it
was off (INPUT default ACCEPT), but I *didn't* check the Bacula "server"
machine.. Stopped
iptables and now it works fine...
Thanks again.. I'm betting I'm gonna have a L
I'm currently using Bacula 5.0.2 on Linux. It's working great with 3 Linux
clients (CentOS and Suse). However, to make things interesting I decided to
try adding a Windows client.
The bacula-fd.exe -t bacula-fd.conf test passes on the Windows client.
However, I did notice if I try to run it f
Hello,
I have read and reread dozens of threads on this board and at this stage am at

Hi,
We've had a couple of threads about this before, but I just tried it now with
Bacula 5.0.2 and just wanted to report my technique. Comments are welcome.
Here's what I did:

Hi Joseph,
This is not a mysql error. The director is waiting to connect to the

Carlo helped me out one again, thanks again!!!

I'm relatively new to bacula as well, and I saw this same thing happen when I
forgot to build/initialize the mysql database, and/or mysql wasn't running.

General: Debian 5.0 amd64, bacula 5.0.1
FD talked to DIR. DIR talks to SD. No Need for FD to talk to SD, Right?
