You can use ...
PurgeOldestVolume = yes
... in the Pool definition but take care; here's from the Bacula Main
Reference: "However, if you use this directive and have only one Volume in
the Pool, you will immediately recycle your Volume if you fill it and Bacula
needs another one. Thus your backup
Worked like a charm - thank you :)
Now, can different jobs (clients) using different pools write to the same
device?
Client1 would use pool1 and write to defined device /mnt/data/backups/client1
client2 would use pool2 and write to defined device /mnt/data/backups/client2
Thanks again.. btw
I have bacula-5.0.1 compiled with openssl support and installed on
CentOS5.4(32bit).
All bacula daemons run on the same server - director, storage and file
daemon. I can successfully backup local files and directories.
The problem is when I try to setup tls encryption (at some point I'll

Hello All ...
This is my first post here (but likely not the last :D ) I manage several
bacula installs all with shall we say issues ...
Here is my PITA for today.

Hi,
Sorry for the subject, it's hard to summarise :)
We have a largish site with a 2-drive tape library, only backing up it's
local data (so just one client). We have created two jobs and split the
filesystems across them so as to be able to run both tape drives
simultaneously. That w
Just an update: VSS is backing up everything needed. I am still in the
same position as I was before. When I go to estimate the job it comes
up with plugin: "exchange (some other stuff)" not found.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Greg

Due to disk space limitations I would like to re-use the same volumes
each week for a single full backup. Every time I try to run a new
job, I get an error stating that bacula cannot find any append-able
volumes. It has been over six days since my last backup. Anyone know
how to make bacula re-u
Hey Steve,
If you wouldn't mind, would you post your config for bacula less the
passwords of course. I am having some problems with my exchange
backing up as well and it seems that you are getting better results
than I am.
Thanks,
Greg

Ivan,
You don't need anything in fstab for this to work; get rid of that line if you
don't need it for anything else.
You need to tell the mount command which disk volume to mount. I think
bacula.conf should read:
Mount Command = "/bin/mount
/dev/disk/by-uuid/44a05141-9107-4288-bc71-1ccdaa
I'm working on updating my v3.0.3 to 5.0.1 code base here. I'm running under
ubuntu 8.04 LTS server (64bit) and running sqlite3. bacula is manually compiled.
The new version of code compiles fine w/ shared libraries (ran into a problem
w/ static & the tools but will look at that later). Anyway

Hi Folks,
I sucessfully migrated from BackupExec (Win) to Bacula 5.0.1 (CentOS/OSX 10.6
clients using CentOS5.1 Director) with a Backup2Disk2Tape configuration.
Everything works perfectly so far (Thanks for this great software!), but I got
one issue:
On restart of bacula-dir, I receive the foll
