Dear all,
Sorry if this question is painfully noobish but I'm trying to figure
out how to keep two rotating tape sets of complete backups where I can
keep one set off site. Will separate catalogs do it? I don't want to
prune or in any other way start over. Just keep two sets of tapes that
Hi all,
I'm observing a strange behaviour regarding Automatic volume recycling
and an autoloader with bacula 2.4.4. Maybe someone can put me in the
right direction..
In short, the story is:
We use 2 Sets of Tapes (each 2 tapes) for weekly backups - even and
uneven weeks. Up to now, this was fine
Nope, disabling tso and tx changed nothing.

Thanks for the warm welcome Arno, and thanks James for your comments.
The machine I am doing the restore to does have the plugin installed and
working. Just to make sure, I did copy over esebcli2.dll to the bacula/bin
directory and am now attempting another restore. I will update with the

Dear List,
In the manual all options are documented on verify jobs, but there is no

Dirk,
Thanks, though I'm still getting the error:

Colleagues, I´m looking for a GUI method to restore files in Mac OS X.
I´ve compiled bacula 2.4 and the backups are running well, the restore
operation with bconsole´s *restore* command, *option 5*, *mark all* works
well, just with one detail, the restoration folder in Mac was restricted to

As someone who sync's volumes up to S3, I would recommend a much smaller
volume size, and to o
This is what I couldn't seem to find -- the running job bytes to tape
per jobname.
thanks!

Hello,
I am currently backing up to 10x25gb volumes, and I need to switch
over to 5gb volumes so that I can upload them to amazon s3.
Before I do that I was wondering if you guys know the exact size in
bytes for the following:
1. s3 (max size) 5gb (It seems as it is exactly 5gb)
2. What is the m

No, BackupCatalog jobs usually have 1 file and the number of bytes depends on
the size of the catalog.
Check the bacula log output for errors and check that the RunBeforeJo

Problem is solved. Added a new tape , labeled the new volume and the backup is
now working fine.

Timo,I think you are onto something. To clear up what happened when I
executed the earlier suggestions. I tried updating the status of
the volume to Used and then tried pruning. I used "1 day" retention period
only as a test to see if anything would change. I have set the default
retention period t
