I will preface this with the usual "I am new to Bacula" statement before diving
into this. I have Googled the errors, and looked at email threads and
attempted to get my configs to look like the ones in the documentation and in
the various forums and email threads. But nothing seems to work.
I second the notion that numeric volume labels are in widespread use.
Maybe those barcode manufacturers gave special discounts to people who
ordered ranges without alphabetic characters in them. :-)
My suggested kludge actually would be the opposite of what others have
suggested; namely, I would a

Why are all my backups scheduled to backup on the volume "StorageMail"?
In bacula-dir.conf I created diffrent "Storage" sections for each client
and in the "JobDefs" section I used that storage definition.

Hello!
I'm having problems with udev /dev/tape/by-id/ symlinks..
it seems symlinks to tape drives are sometimes (randomly) missing after reboot.
Server in question has IBM TS3200 tape library connected with 2 drives in
it.. so /proc/scsi/scsi shows 3 devices: 2 tape drives, and 1 medium changer

I've got to my SBS exchange server and was wondering what the best

I'm not sure if the Eeebox is somehow special, but usually, an sd-card
would be treated like a hard disk. When using a hard disk for backup,
each file - not the whole drive - corresponds to a volume. Bacula really
doesn't know much about the drive as a whole.
So you probably can use it as a bac

Hello.
I tried this:
rpmbuild --rebuild --define "build_centos5 1" --define "build_x86_64 1"
--define "build_client_only 1" bacula-2.
Hello,
I have a bacula-dir, and a bacula-sd on different machines. The bacula-sd
is using disk/file based storage.
I would like to be able say to the bacula-dir, "does the bacula-sd have access
to a volume called 'backup-00XX'?"
Does anybody know whether this is possible?

I am trying to get bacula to run through an SSH tunnel, losely based on

Hi,
I guess no one has noticed this... weird!
Neverthless, you certainly use %n character substitution in bacula
2.4.4. Could you tell me what result do you have?
job_backup02c
or
job_backup01c.2009-02-04_00
Is date appended to the name declared in Job resource?
Thanks
