is there any chance to run the fd on a windows sbs 2008? VSS is not supported
on x64 systems as far as i know, correct?

Iam new to bacula. I just installed a trail version of clarconnect 4.3 and
wanted to test backup/restore usin the LAN Backup/Restore module. I
installed module successfully , followed the documentation on how to create
filessets,schedule jobs, etc.

The configuration file update only applies to new volumes. However you
can undate the config file
On the director side, you could use bconsole. You can do that from a
script, too.
On the fd side, you could write a ClientRunBeforeJob that creates a
"flag" file somewhere (say, create a file called
/var/run/baculaJobRunning), and a ClientRunAfterJob that removes it.
You can do the same thing

if a bacula jobs is running ?"
On the bacula-dir side ?

Which of the three retention periods are you speaking of? File, job or
volume?
If it's volume, when you update, there is a 'update all volumes from pool'.
