I tried mounting it from within Webmin but it would never mount. I am not very
proficient with Bacula and I have yet to figure how to label one so that it

Hi Blake,
I have a simular setup, with 3 TBs and will soon have a 4th when Frys
has their $99 sale again. :) Anyways, what I do is break each disk into
its own pool and then use the scheduler to split jobs equally among
each drive. You may not need to do that, I just like to have the data

We have a dozen systems backed up to a single host, on-disk backup.
We just rebuilt the host. One of the systems had periodically failed
backups (once every week or so) but all other systems were fine.
Now this same system won't back up at all. This is private Gigabit
flat network. (no ro

Hello,
I've been discussing with Eric how we might handle Copy jobs in our
development version. Currently, Copy jobs are implemented, and they work
much like Migration jobs (share 99% of the code). The difference is that
Migration jobs purge the original backup job and keep only the Migrated
That sounds like what I'm looking for, in combination with what John

I already have the mount/unmount bit taken care of, so no need to
worry there.

Well, that's good to know!
I must say, though my cramped schedule makes fully studying Bacula's
feature set a bit hard, it's a very impressive tool. Unfortunately, I
think I'm getting bitten by the simplicity of my needs. Bacula is
geared towards management of a tape library, something we

I'm attempting something very simple with Bacula that has not worked
correctly yet. I've decided I need to start from scratch.
Here are my goals:
I want to back up to a rotation of 4 1tb hard drives over the course
of 4 weeks.
I want a full backup every Sunday, and incrementals every day a

You should always have at least 1 full backup on bacula volumes

It's not necessary but in this case bacula has to read every single
tape to determine the tapes label and update the database.

Hi,
sometimes when the full backup over the weekend has failed, I change the
schedule on Monday to re-create the full backup.
The problem is, that I only have one volume in the full backup pool and a
volume retention of six days. So every time I change the schedule, I need to

Prompted by several postings here on the list I thought it might be a
good idea to run dbcheck on my Bacula DB and see what it will find.
But tests 9 (orphaned Path records) and 10 (orphaned Filename records)
are inacceptably long to complete.

does anyone knows which db operations block the "status dir" command?

I knew tha now "status dir" does not trigger any more a general pruning of
volumes, as it did before, but it happens anyway that the
