Hi Everyone,
Below is a set of messages from a backup I was running tonight. For this
set of fulls, I turned on data spooling. Mostly it's been going okay
until I ran this last job and got this:

Nice, but not all that useful for people who have configured their mail

Read information from MySQL about what it takes to upgrade MySQL from
4.x to 5.x. That is not Bacula specific.
Bacula doesn't care, except it can't be linked with the wrong version of
MySQL shlibs. Check the daemons with ldd -v and you'll see what dyn
I'm still getting the error after trying the ALTER command (I ran it

hey gang,
I thought I had this nailed the other day, even going so far as to
insert a new tape into the drive, labeling it and adding it to the
weekly pool (see previous post) to no avail. "Weekly" back-up failed on
Thursday when Bacula was looking for appendable media.

If you're referring to the Bacula list, the links are at the bottom of
every e-mail (like the one below).

I have a some questions about BAT that I hope you can answer.
First, what is the interface between BAT and the other Bacula components
(director, sd, fd, database) ? I ask because I would like to know if it
would be possible to run BAT on a system other than the director? Does
it just talk to
Can someone tell me what the list address is to get more information from the
server? I seem to have deleted the original and can't find the right list now.
Thanks.

All,
I am having a hard time correctly configuring a job to run before
a client backup on a Win32 host. I believe its just incorrect syntax

All,
I had a job running (despooling) from disk to tape. During this
time I was making changes to bacula-dir.conf and I did a "reload" in
bconsole. My changes weren't kosher and bacula died. The job already
had filled 1 tape, and was despooling to another. When I started

Thanks for your responses. I know it may seem like an easy thing,
but I'm a really cautious guy when mucking with customer production
system. I really appreciate all the tips, especially for a non-Debian
guy like myself.

Hi,
I need a litte bit help with Baculas catalog database locking
mechanisms. Is there anything I can do, to avoid locking the whole
catalog db during pruning or restore (tree build)?
We run a full backup every week. The runtime is about 5 days (1,5 for
spooling and and 3-4 for writing the data

David is right. Bacula is not able to clear a part of a volume. She can
only append to a volume or clean it completely. I can recommend to have
one volume for one day (Use duration 23 hours). Bacula will create new
volumes everywhen she needs.
