The Ubuntu Wiki has a 'light' theme which is not enabled by default
right now. If you want to use it, just go in your user preferences and
set the theme to 'light' .
I don't know about the planet, though.

A phone ringing is a pretty annoying intrusion -- precisely because we
accept that missing a phone call is a big deal, and shou

So your telling me that when an indicator that you have a message shows up
in the top right of the screen this presents
It certainly is an idea worth exploring further, Windows Explorer has
certainly displayed metadata for years so it's by no means a new or unique
concept.
Often the actual file name is unrelated to the metadata (track1.mp3 etc..)
and so it would be very useful in those situations to be able to view

Before any kind of conclusions, a survey with long-time
OSX users should be made. After all, not only they use
a Global Menu all the time, but a lot of them also
have huge monitors.

Disagreed. In real life, sometimes when someone calls "hey, do you have
a sec?" and you are very focused and want to finish something first,
you can tur

I think Vincent Moulin hit the nail in the head with his idea of windows not
maximized having their menus inside of them instead of the top. I've found
myself feeling a bit confused as to what app did the global menu belong to,
when
working with multiple, unmaximized windows, something I alway

Hi! I don't know if this is the right mailing list to ask this, but is there
any work being done on updating http://planet.ubuntu.com and
http://wiki.ubuntu.com to the new brand guidelines? I work with web design
and I could help updating the style of those sites.
