Does anybody know - what happend with idea to provide posibility to non-recursive making in automake. Robert Collins proposed patch year ago (adding subdir_include). But it was not included in release. My question is - is it

Is there any way of adding support for new languages to AUTOMAKE, without
modifying the source of the main AUTOMAKE script (usually /usr/bin/automake)?
