shared vs static libraries

a .a rather then a .la file when you compile with --disable-shared? Thanks for any help you can give. David Churches.

compiler change

Hi, I am using automake and autoconf to prepare a software library. One of my subdirectories will be using the mpiCC compiler, but the rest of the subdirectories will be using gcc. How do I acheive this using Automake? Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Cheers, David Churches

automake question

Hi, I am using automake to test codes by using make check. However, one of my test codes needs an argument in order to run. How do I give this argument to automake in the Makefile.am file? Cheers, David Churches. - David
