platform-testers is not a wide enough audience. I'd suggest to write to
gnu-prog-discuss and ask some of the maintainers there to try to upgrade
their packages to the Autoconf RC.

I'm also in favor of an RC release, I can then rebuild Fedora packages
using the tarball from the tester list and do some kind of A/B testing.
