(complain, but not quit if not). 3. standard locations (/usr/include or what not). Any better ideas? Let's hope pkg-config settles (or something better obsoletes it) in the foreseeable future. Regards -- tomas signature.asc Description: Digital signature _

How to replace a function

2003-03-07 Thread tomas
ell AC_REPLACE_FUNCS *which* library to look into? Or is it just meant to cope with ``standard system libraries'' and am I to re-invent the wheel and do a tentative compile? Thanks for any hints -- tomas

ehow a `feature test' seems to me the right thing here (and maybe useful to others on this list). What do you think? Thanks -- tomas

$(LIBOBJS). That means that I can only do it globally, not for a specific binary. Is there another way? Regards -- tomas

It's the old ``version test versus feature test'' issue. I'll prepare another post on that. Thanks for your suggestions. Regards -- tomas

AC_CHECK_TYPE search locations

2000-02-24 Thread Tomas Berndtsson
AC_CHECK_TYPE only looks in some header files for the type. But, for other types, there is no way to specify what header file(s) to look in. For example, the new ISO C 9X standard have uint16_t in stdint.h, included in inttypes.h but not in sys/types.h. Thus, AC_CHECK_TYPE cannot find it. Tomas

autoconf bug?

2001-02-09 Thread Tomas Berndtsson
wrong result. The bug reporting address on the autoconf online manual is [EMAIL PROTECTED], but I was suggested on the automake list to mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] instead. Maybe an update of the manual and the webpage is needed, as there is no mention of the [EMAIL PROTECTED] anywhere. Please CC me the reply, since I'm not on the list. Greetings, Tomas

at, the comma in the string made it go wrong, for some reason I don't know. Removing the comma in the problematic block is the _only_ difference I made to make it work, so I can't see that it would be some other string that is causing it. I can include the whole configure.in, if someone wants to see? Tomas

Yeah, it does, and that's what I use now. Was just wondering. Thanks for all info anyway, Tomas

Dereference of undefined pointer value in conftest.c

I just ran the clang static analyzer on the xserver configure script and it reported a few issues. Most of them were dead assignments/increments, but there also was one dereference of an undefined pointer value. I don't know which tests the conftest.c belongs to, but I doubt it's to test if an appl
