Is chan_ss7 using your VPMADT032 at all?
How do you tell whether you are using s/w echo or the hardware module?

Hi,
I've come to know that a patch is required to use 16 or more E1s with
chan_ss7 on a cluster.
Any light you can shed about this patch?

Jorge.

Hi,
Most cards should actually work with the two main SS7 distros, libss7
and chan_ss7, the key is about the right setup and talks with the other
operator.
good luck,
jorge.

cdr.billsec and cdr.duration is already set as float, so no problem
there.
I figure you must have bumped into issues like this connecting SS7
trunks to other operators.
Or if you know where to look for, please let me know.

Hi,
It crashed miserably, I feel this is only for 1.6 branch though..

Quick Update ***
Patched and compiled against trunk version, which seems to be a 1.6ish
branch and it went well, not tried it yet though, don't relly use
1.6 just now.
Should I ?.

Hi Dave,
I think this answers:
Line #28.
typedef enum {ITU_SS7, CHINA_SS7} ss7_variant;
no ANSI here.

Try it,
I have 20 E1 cluster on asterisk with a single DPC (yes Gustavo, I am
breaking Q.704) and it's working somewhat ok, 6 are currently blocked
because of strange states on CICs but I guess I could look into chan_ss7
1.4 instead...

Hi again,
I have a 20 E1 cluster on chan_ss7 1.3, for some reason, when I try to
block a CIC by issuing "ss7 block XX 31", the CICs do appear as blocked,
however they do not really block the channels as the machine keeps on
trying to send (and actually does send) calls on those cics that appear

Hi there!,
If I get chan_ss7 cluster right, that is only for sharing signaling
channels on a single set of systems, do not think it has the ability to
reroute/overflow incoming SIP calls , I am not sure though...
You will then have the task to distribute in an even fashion from your
other endpoint
.
Now, the echo is very consistent and happens on all five boxes (5boxes x
4 E1s each) , any clues?

Hi Pawel,
CRC4 works pretty odd on libpri the same way it does on SS7, for what
have seen it does not do well on either, unless there is some black
magic around it.
if your link is NEEDING CRC4, you will loose quality/calls on either
case.
My recommendation, would be to discontinue its use, for as
without breaking the system.
Regards.

Hi,
Ok, so after installing chan_ss7 1.4.3 things got a little better with
individual CIC handling and how it behaves and performs.
Brief up:
Chan_ss7 1.4.3, asterisk 1.4.30, dahdi 2.2.1, libpri 1.4.10.2, 5 OpenVox
4 ports each distributed across 5 boxes.
We have 20 E1s that should be as clear an
Hi Robert,
thanks for your prompt reply, that is exactly what drives me nuts.
how about dahdi's system.conf, it counts like this:
bchan=1-31
bchan=32-62
bchan=63-93
bchan=94-124
exactly like this on all 5 machines.
what happens if I do that is that I get T22 messages all over the place.
thanks

Hi folks,
We have just started receiving inbound from the incumbent and it all
goes well except when we have private numbers calling into the network.
We see nothing from ANI or actually, we get like these two
examples.
