Interesting topic. However, I believe the answer is quite simple. Its not that Yash and Karan make stupid cinema (and that all Rahman's movie are intelligent : case in point - One 2 ka 4?). I think its a very consious decision on part of Yash and Karan to not take Rahman. Let me put it this way
