much success. I know that a version 2 card works but mine is the older
version 1. Has anyone managed to get this version to work?

Apparently VXpocket V1 and VXpocket V2 have the same firmware and CSID.
Your VXpocket V1 could work with the ALSA driver, but I have not tested
it personnaly.
Did you copy /usr/src/alsa-driver-XXX/pcmcia/vx/vxpocket.conf
